What I Provide

Custom portraits (pets and people) come complete with an image consultation and the original composition (oil on canvas or charcoal). Charcoal portraits include framing. Framing is not included with oil paintings. Free pickup is available in the Richmond, Virgina area. If shipping is required, that cost will be separate and depend on zip code.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

IMAGE CONSULTATION

The first step to a successful portrait is working with a great photograph. I am here to help you with the selection process. I am happy to advise and help you to select the perfect portrait quality reference photograph. Personal snapshots are all that is needed, no professional photography. Proper lighting and detail are key. Photographs taken outside or with great natural light work beautifully as they capture amazing atmosphere, texture, and detail. The eyes are tremendously important and need to be well illuminated. No dark or blurry photographs please. The eye or eyes of your loved one will, ultimately, reveal personality, serve as a focal point, draw viewers in, and capture your heart. 

I bring years of experience and a degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Painting and Drawing to the table. I am confident that you will be thrilled with the results. I strive to achieve the best for every project I undertake and every client I have the privilege of serving. Contact me today.

CUSTOM COMPOSITION

I offer one-of-a-kind custom portraits of both people and pets. I enjoy working with oil and charcoal to create beautiful compositions exposing and expressing the beauty and charm of our furry, or otherwise textured, friends. *When you purchase a custom pet or person portrait, you purchase the original charcoal portrait. I, Emily Louise, maintain the rights to the image. 

FRAMING

Charcoal portraits come framed. The window, or opening in the matting, for the portraits seen below are 12" x 18". The frames, one brown and one black, are approximately 19" x 27". Contact me to discuss size and color.

Oil portrait prices do not include framing. Portraits are painted on quality canvas. Edges are painted so portraits can be hung unframed. I am happy to provide beautiful, high-quality framing for an additional cost.
